A security licence must be amended if the following information changes:
- address details
- name details
- contact telephone number
- email address
- licensed manager
- directors on a body corporate licence.
To change these details you need to access My Licence portal and make these changes online.
If you need to make a change to your name, you will need to email CAT as this cannot be changed online. You will need to provide us with the following documents:
- a change of name certificate or a marriage certificate or
- a certificate issued by Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) showing the company name change.
Adding an activity to a licence
You can add an activity or endorsement to your licence at any time.
To add these activities / endorsements, you need to access the My Licence portal and ‘Amend’ your licence. You will be prompted to provide all training requirements and a Statement of Attainment.
The licence period for new activities will be back-dated to the start date of your current licence and will expire on the same date.
Cancelling a licence
by a licence holder
A licence holder can cancel a licence by:
- not renewing the licence when it falls due; or
- returning the licence and identity card with a letter advising the licence is no longer required to:

Your licence can be cancelled if you are convicted of a disqualifying offence. If you are found guilty of a disqualifying offence with no conviction, you may be required to justify why your licence should not be cancelled.
